Express Recruitment are continuing to work in partnership with one of Nottingham’s most exciting, prestigious manufacturers, who continue to lead the global market in their niche field. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Process Engineer to join their manufacturing department to identify and make necessary improvements to their manufacturing process through LEAN Manufacturing tools and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

The successful individual will be highly rewarded with a generous starting salary of up to c£45,000. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Flexible working hours available based on individual circumstance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assess the current manufacturing process and identify key areas for improvement, including downtime minimisation and cost reduction
  • Write concise proposals and present them to the Technical Manager
  • Implement and standardise process optimisation methods, especially Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  • Consult closely with the R&D department, Manufacturing Engineers and Supply Chain personnel to implement plans for ongoing development of product offering
  • Perform scheduled risk assessments and provide recommendations to enhance process procedure
  • Work closely with compliance personnel to ensure necessary quality assurance policies and regulatory standards are in full adherence
  • Collaborate with the QA team to develop and maintain quality documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Create and deploy Workflow Plans and SOPs and ensure relevant parties fully understand the process
  • Perform FMEA/PFMEA analysis and reporting duties
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments of assembly lines and assess current tooling in operation and put forward proposals for modifications

Skills & Experience

  • Degree/HND qualification in relevant technical discipline
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing Methodologies
  • Holder of Six Sigma Yellow Belt as a minimum
  • Demonstrable experience within the manufacturing sector
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate a team
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Proficient data analysis and report writing skills
  • Ability to pre-plan and manage projects, with knowledge of project based methodologies
