Our client is seeking a technically astute Senior FPGA Design Engineer, with a demonstrable and varied skillset, to join their talented team.   

This role will entail working heavily in electronic hardware design with both digital and analogue domains.  

In return, the successful candidate can expect a market competitive salary of up to £65,000, depending on experience. Other benefits include hybrid working, flexible working, pension, regular social events, and continuous training.  

Roles & Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Managing Director to support with ongoing NPD projects  
• Maintain and develop existing product across the product portfolio  
• Create and maintain clear and concise documentation  
• Collaborate with internal Electrical/Electronic Engineers to ensure the design meets all stringent requirements, including ISO9001:2015 quality standard 
• Responsible for all calibration and test procedures, Test routines, result specification and uncertainty of errors for both (UKAS) ISO 17025 and standard calibration 
• Lead and mentor Junior Engineers and provide ongoing technical guidance  

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience in FPGA design, synthesis, implementation, and test  
• Proficient in RTL design and coding experience with VHDL (or Verilog)  
• Knowledge of CPU or DSP architectures advantageous  
• Ability to develop large Altera and Xilinx FPGAs using VHDL (or Verilog)  
• Experience in analogue and digital design at system, product, and circuit level  
• Schematic entry and PCB knowledge required  
• Experience programming in assembly language  
• High-speed digital design experience  
• Product design and test experience (e.g., EMC Compliance, UKAS calibration)
