Due to the nature of the sector our client operates in, the successful candidate will be subject to a standard DBS check. Further to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence and passport is required due to occasional travel commitments.  

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing technical engineering support to colleagues across all cross functional departments 
• Carry out rigorous investigations into current technical processes and identify streamlining proposals 
• Tackle complex technical issues with regards to manufacturing and quality and provide efficient problem-solving solutions  
• Apply knowledge and expertise of continuous improvement methodologies and deploy across cross functional teams 
• Gather technical requirements to produce detailed reports and verbally communicate findings  
• Work closely with shop floor and design personnel to interpret diagrams and ensure geometric tolerances are being adhered to  
• Identify cost effective solutions within current processes and display data to back up proposals  
• Attend German parent plant when required to consult with key manufacturing personnel and update them on modified processes  
• Report directly into Head of Technical and carry out projects when required 

Skills & Experience

• Degree or formal qualification in relevant engineering discipline 
• Experienced in light manufacturing environment highly desirable 
• Possess expert knowledge in applied continuous improvement methodologies 
• Demonstrable experience in defence industry sector advantageous 
• Ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings 
• Experience working with calibration measuring equipment and working with tight tolerances essential 
• Ability to communicate on all senior levels  
• Full UK driving licence and valid passport
